A scream fills the air in this quite summer afternoon, a few people look around for the source and shrugs. A girl dressed in a red and black corseted dress was seen scrambling onto the top of a table in a nearby store, screaming and making a lot of noise. Let me mention that that girl is me and I saw the biggest cockroach in my life waltzing past my platform clad foot.
“Kill it, for crying out loud kill that little bastard” I manage to screech as Reita rolls his eyes and chases the bug with a bug spray in hand. Uruha just stare dumbly at me as I stare back, just as dumbly. “Oh Hana, what are you doing up there?” a voice says as I saw Mina staring at me in confusion. “Oh Mina hime” I sigh as I latch myself onto the taller woman. “Let me guess, Kai forgot to make cakes or a giant bug?” Mina asks as she hugs me. “Bug” “Ah I see and” Mina says then lowers her voice. “Here I thought Kai forgot you” she adds as I jump away from her. “Hey, what did I say about mentioning that in front of the monkeys?” I say as my heart jump a few beats. “Not to say a word or else I get to date him” Raikou says as I glare at him. “Shut it, Rikku” I say with a smirk as he gasps at me. “Don’t call me Rikku, I am trying to forget that night” Raikou says with a smile. I simply grin and walk around the room. Ruki walks in and to me, he seems divine. “Oh Ruki, I knew you love me but this is too much” I say with a grin as I walk over and try and grab a chocolate covered cupcake off the tray only to have him smack me away. “Oh Hana, I know how much you love me but these goodies are for Kai’s birthday” Ruki says as he places the tray on the table and got Uruha to protect them. I stood there with my finger in my mouth, looking like a child who got caught red handed in a cookie jar. “Uruha, may I taste one to make sure it’s not poisoned.” I ask as Uruha shakes his head and orders me back to work. Let me be brief, today is Kai’s birthday and I had a crush on him since we first started working together about a year ago (well they offered to become our mentors and well we accepted), I’m a vocalist of the newest band, Yume666, my fellow band members in Mina and Raikou, we have two other members but they both got food poisoning from the restaurant they went to last night with their family (well they are twins named Kira and Sora). Then again, I don’t think he noticed me but anyway, I am to perform a song today as well as decorate the sitting area near the recording studio. I sigh as I hung up streamers around the room. “So can we have a sneak peak at the song that you want us to analyse today?” Ruki asks as he finished placing trays of food on the table. I blush as I thought about the song, it’s about my life since I met Kai and how he made the darkness I never realized more obvious as I try and suppress my crush but who cares, as I smile to myself, I am still friends with him. “Nope, you have to wait like the rest of us” I say as I stick my tongue out at him. He just rolls his eyes and walks away. I sigh as Raikou walks over to me. “So acoustic mode today” he asks as I simply nod. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ [An hour later] I flop myself on top of Reita who is laying on the lounge. “So tired” I sigh as Reita mutters something but I refuse to budge, that is until Ruki yells at us to hide. I flip over the lounge, dragging Reita with me while Mina crawls over to us and grins. “Let’s make this awesome” she whispers as I suppress a laugh. “Come on Kai, your so slow” Aoi announces that he was there and gently opens the door, the light flicks on and we all jump and yell, whatever is on our minds, well me and Mina did anyway. “SURPRISE” Ruki, Uruha, Aoi, Reita and Raikou say in unison. “UNICORNS” Mina yells. “COOKIES” I yell as the others look at us but Kai just laughs, walks over to me and Mina and hugs us. “Thanks guys” he says with a grin, and then before anyone could say anything, I jumped onto that cupcake. “Booyea” I say and just as I was to take a bite, Kai walks over and takes a bite out of it. “That’s nice, if you don’t want it now, I’ll have it” he says as I felt a small blush as I quickly bit into it. “Mine” I mutter as I walk over and steal Reita’s nose band and run away with it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ [Few hours later] We all ate, drank and now it’s down to games and well, the song. “Well let’s hear it” Aoi says as Kai gives me an odd look and then remembers that my band has a song waiting to be looked over. “Okay, it’s acoustic for now since the twins aren’t here” Raikou says as he picks up the acoustic guitar while Mina sat behind the drums. The guys cheer as I smile. “That’s a good song, it will do very well, can’t wait to hear the original version.” Aoi says as Kai kept his eyes firmly on me. I smile and excused myself while I walk outside for fresh air. The wind whips around my legs as I walk into the cool night air; I sit on the crate outside and look at my shoes with a minor interest. Then I felt something warm being draped on me. I look up and see Kai. “Oh, thank you” I whisper as I shift over and let Kai sit down, which he did. I felt my cheeks warm up, not because we are sitting so close but because it is just me and him and his jacket on my shoulders. I felt him shift closer as I continue to stare at my shoes. “Hana, I know what you were saying while singing” he says as I suddenly got to my feet. “Yes, that cookies and candy are my real loves in life” I say trying to cover up the fact that he was right on the dot…maybe. “No, what I was going to say…” he starts but I cut him off again. “That you like cookies too” I say with a blush rising to my cheeks, please don’t remind me about the song about you. “No…” he starts to say again. “You don’t like cookies” I sulk as I turn and look at him “No that you like Reita” he says before I could say anything and then I couldn’t help but laugh. “What’s so funny?” “I don’t like Reita, my god, I like you moron” I say without thinking and the look Kai gave me made me realize what I just said. “Oh shit, I just said that out loud didn’t I?” I ask as he nods. “Hana…”Kai says as I swiftly walk down the street…well more like run…that is until I felt someone grab me and push me against the wall. Their lips on mine, the hands encircled around my wrist and their body on mine. They pull away and I realize that Kai kissed me. “…k…k…Kai” I stutter as he smiles. “I like cookies but I like you more, so let’s um stick together and see where that goes?” he asks as I realize…he was asking me out.
“Okay as long as I get that lollipop in your pocket” I say with laugh, he laughs as well as he hands me the lollipop and we walk hand in hand down the street.
